Livingston moved up to third with a 4-1 thrashing of bottom-club Airdrie.

The visitors, who came into the game without a win in five games, were awarded a penalty after just four minutes following Jesus Garcia Tena's foul on Jamie Bain, but John Boyle blazed his spot-kick over the crossbar.

And Livi punished the miss with three first-half goals.

Anthony Andreu picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area and arrowed a low drive into the bottom corner before adding a second six minutes before the break with a spectacular shot from outside the box.

Iain Russell lashed in from close range after a quick break for the third five minutes later.

Airdrie's Sean Lynch was sent-off for two bookings in the 75th minute and Stefan Scougall soon added a fourth with a composed finish from 12 yards.

Boyle arrowed a stoppage-time consolation into the bottom corner, but his side are now six points adrift at the bottom.
