Bobby Grant's injury-time strike was enough to down Wycombe at Adams Park and move Rochdale into the League Two play-off places.
Rochdale went into the lead after just five minutes through Ashley Grimes but found themselves level midway through the first half as Joel Grant equalised for Wycombe.
After goalkeeper Josh Lillis had kept the visitors in the game Rochdale stole the victory with a slice of luck, Bobby Grant's 92nd-minute shot taking a huge deflection before looping in.
A vibrant start from Rochdale saw the visitors take the lead inside five minutes, catching Wycombe on the break and debutant Terry Gornell pulled the ball back from the right byline for Grimes to tuck away a shot at the near post for his fourth of the season.
But 20 minutes later the hosts were level after some nice interchange between Dennis Oli and Joel Grant allowed the former to chip over the onrushing Lillis for his fourth of the season.
After the break the home side pushed for a second, and a first win in six games, but found Lillis in inspired form.
And just when a draw looked likely Grant's speculative effort flew over the helpess Jordan Archer to give Rochdale the points.
