Lithuania 1-1 Slovakia
Lithuania and Slovakia came away with a point apiece from this evening's World Cup qualifying Group G opener in Vilnius after both being reduced to 10 men.
The home side went 1-0 up in the 18th minute through Marius Zaliukas before Marek Sapara's 41st-minute leveller.
Slovakia striker Viktor Pecovsky was shown a straight red card early in the second half, but Lithuania failed to take advantage and had substitute Tadas Labukas dismissed for a second bookable offence in stoppage time.
The visitors attacked early on, with Martin Skrtel heading wide and Miroslav Stoch firing over.
Soon after Skrtel got a block in to deny Edgaras Cesnauskis, and Lithuania then took the lead as Zaliukas nodded home Saulius Mikoliunas' deep free-kick.
Gediminas Vicius saw one shot go too high and another tipped around the post by Slovakia goalkeeper Jan Mucha, and Cesnauskis struck a free-kick over.
Moments later Stoch brought two saves out of Zydrunas Karcemarskas and Sapara then equalised, slotting in from Marek Hamsik's pass.
Ten minutes into the second half Pecovsky was sent off for a professional foul on Cesnauskis.
Lithuania mustered only an off-target Mikoliunas strike, though, before Karcemarskas caught a Hamsik header.
Neither side could find a winner in the final 10 minutes and Labukas evened up the numbers by collecting his second yellow card.
