Marcelo: 'There is never an easy game' for Real Madrid after Sporting scare

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo said "there is never any easy game" for the club following Saturday's last-minute 3-2 victory over Sporting Gijon.

Madrid remain three points clear at the top of La Liga with a game in hand over second-placed Barcelona after the win at Sporting, which was secured by a 90th-minute goal from Isco.

Madrid had to overturn a 2-1 deficit against the relegation battlers, and Marcelo says the game was proof that it is never plain-sailing for his side when they take to the pitch.

"There is never an easy game," he told reporters.

"We've given every last bit in a difficult game. We didn't have much time to rest, those that have come in have been phenomenal and that is what makes the team great. When we need everyone, they're there.

"It is difficult, there isn't time to rest, but we are working very well and we're good physically. But, in the end, we have played a lot of difficult games."

Isco's winning goal was his second of the game and Marcelo feels the brace was well deserved for a player who has been working hard despite struggling for playing time this season.

"[Isco] has been very good, he is very happy with his goals but more for the result for the team," Marcelo said. "Isco deserves it, like everyone else he has been working.

"It is a relief to be able to take the three points, that was what we wanted. Before the game, we were thinking only about Sporting, but now it changes to Bayern [Munich in the Champions League], and later El Clasico [against Barcelona]. We are playing game-to-game."
