Alvaro Morata reports back for preseason training with Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has said he is grateful for the experience at Juventus but is glad to be back and can't wait to train again.

Morata's two-year spell with with the Serie A club ended earlier this month after Real Madrid announced they had activated the buy-back clause in his contract.

"I have had two great years at Juventus, I learned a lot and I can only be thankful because without this experience I would not be here," he told the club website.

"It is incredible to be here again. It is a dream come true and I can't wait to get started."

Morata has re-joined the team in Montreal on Thursday where Los Blancos began their preparations for the 2016-17 season this week at the Impact's Caserne Letourneux training ground. They are scheduled to play three friendlies in the United States against Paris Saint-Germain in Columbus, Chelsea in Ann Arbor and Bayern Munich in New Jersey.

"I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive so we can get to work," Morata said.  "[Zinedine] Zidane works hard and does a lot of physical work."

Morata is seeking answers as to where he'll fit amid a report on Wednesday in Marca that his future could lie far from the Santiago Bernabeu and possibly with Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

The report said that new Chelsea boss Conte has been in touch with Morata on an almost-daily basis and has assured him that if he made a move to Stamford Bridge, regular first-team minutes would come along with it.

Whether Real Madrid are willing to sell, and at what price, remains a huge variable and potential obstacle to a deal coming to fruition, with a reported €60 million offer from the Blues already being knocked back.

Meanwhile, Spain winger Lucas Vazquez said he is looking forward to the preseason.

"I am in great shape and cannot wait to get started. I am motivated and excited for the season," he told the club website. "We are now focusing on the UEFA Super Cup. We need to be in great shape and work hard in order to win it. The holidays always go quickly, but I'm excited to get started and very happy to be here."
