RB Leipzig's Naby Keita gets three-game ban for high challenge

RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has been banned for three matches after being sent off for a high boot challenge on Borussia Monchengladbach's Christoph Kramer on Saturday.

The incident happened in the 83rd minute of a 2-2 draw when Keita's boot split Kramer's lip.

Keita had set up the goal that gave Leipzig a 2-1 half-time lead, scored by Jean-Kevin Augustin, but lost the ball ahead of Lars Stindl's 61st minute equaliser.

The German FA (DFB) banned the midfielder, who will join Liverpool next summer, for dangerous play, meaning he will miss games at Augsburg and Cologne and a home match against Frankfurt.

However, he is eligible to play at Besiktas in the Champions League next week.
