Columbus Crew go clear

Columbus Crew moved a point clear at the top of the Eastern Conference after a 2-2 draw with Houston Dynamo, despite playing 79 minutes with ten men.

Emmanuel Ekpo was sent off after just 11 minutes for the home side, who fell behind on 34 minutes as JeVaughn Watson opened the scoring.

However, Andres Mendoza scored twice from the penalty spot in 12 second-half minutes to threaten an unlikely win for the Crew before Calen Carr equalised four minutes from time.
