Napoli president Antonio De Laurentiis has issued a stern warning to Uruguay amid suggestions they could take a risk on the fitness of Edinson Cavani.

Cavani sustained a knee injury during the group stages of the Copa America, but it is reported Uruguay are considering returning him to the first-team fold for this Sunday's final against Paraguay.

The 24-year-old striker was a key player for Napoli last season, scoring 33 goals in all competition, and hence De Laurentiis is wary of Cavani being ruled out for the start of the new Serie A season.

"I'll kill them if they've broken my Edinson," De Laurentiis said. "I don't really care about international competitions, but I just ask Uruguay to take good care of him.

"If he's not fit then he shouldn't play. Uruguay better be careful otherwise I will bring a never ending case against them."
