Panamaa were able to overcome a 10-man Guadeloupe 3-2 in the opening Group C fixture of the Gold Cup.

Panama took a seemingly unassailable 3-0 lead after two goals in three first-half minutes from Blas Perez and Luis Tejada and a penalty from Gabriel Gomez in the 57th minute.

With Guadeloupe already a man down thanks to Mickael Tacalfred's 38th-minute red card their cause seemed lost, but Brice Jovial had other ideas.

He came on two minutes into the second half and notched after 65 and 79 minutes, rousing his side to push their opponents all the way to the end.
