Kean summoned to India

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean missed a crucial training session ahead of Sunday's relegation battle with Wolves after being summoned to a meeting with the club's owners in India.

• FA investigate Givet''s bung claim
• Drink driving charge for Kean
• Blog: Good riddance to 2010/11

With Kean on his monthly 22-hour round trip to Pune for discussions with Venky's boss Anuradha Desai, assistant John Jensen took training, the Daily Mail reports.

Blackburn are just one point above the Premier League drop zone and fans will be concerned that preparations for 'Survival Sunday' could suffer.

And reports in the UK press also claim that Kean could be sacked by Blackburn's owners even if he secures Premier League football for next season, with former Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren line-up as a replacement.

McClaren, who turned down the chance to be considered for the West Ham job, has been out of work since being fired by German side Wolfsburg on February 7.

Rovers' preparations for Sunday's showdown with Wolves have already been disrupted by news that Kean faces a drink-driving charge and reports that the FA are investigating claims by Gael Givet that he was an unwitting participant in a 'bung' payment.
