South Africa were also awarded the hosting rights for the 2017 edition.
"We would have liked to host the 2015 edition," said a disappointed South African Football Association CEO Lesley Sedibe. "But a decision has been taken and we have no problem with that. "We made a presentation that we have the infrastructure ready as well as all the volunteers that worked during the Fifa World Cup to call on a short notice, but like we say, we welcome the decision as there was no losers."
The Moroccan delegation celebrated wildly after the announcement was made, with some even blowing vuvuzelas to celebrate.
