Eto'o brace sends Inter into quarters

Inter Milan's winning start to the year continued as they saw off Genoa 3-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

• Blog: Leonardo can be optimistic

New boss Leonardo had overseen back-to-back league wins against Napoli and Catania and he got the perfect start again on Wednesday as Samuel Eto'o's brace put his side 2-0 up by half-time

Houssine Kharja pulled one back eight minutes after the restart from the spot, but McDonald Mariga re-established the two-goal cushion six minutes later, rendering Giuseppe Sculli's 90th-minute strike academic.

In the day's other quarter-final clash, Fabrizio Miccoli's 80th-minute penalty gave Palermo a 1-0 win over Chievo Verona, booking Delio Rossi's side a last-eight clash with Parma.
