Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has admitted his side have struggled for goals this season, but promised that his misfiring attackers are ready to prove their worth against Auxerre.

Since Mourinho took over at the Bernabeu, Real have scored eight goals in six games - a tally that pales in comparison to the 21 they had netted at the same stage last season under former boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Both Cristiano Ronaldo, who had scored seven goals after six games last season, and last season's Pichichi winner, Gonzalo Higuain, have only hit the net twice so far in 2010-11, but Mourinho insists more goals are coming.

"Yes, we've experienced a few difficulties in front of goal," Mourinho said. "We are excellent in all other areas, just cannot score, but I can tell you goals are going to come soon.

"I expect a difficult game [against Auxerre]. They are well organised and it will be difficult to play here. We need points to qualify and our objective is to gain three."
