Saadane ends fifth Algeria reign

Algeria coach Rabah Saadance resigned on Saturday, ending his fifth spell with the national team.

Saadane lead Algeria to the 2010 World Cup, with the Desert Foxes finishing bottom of a group containing England, Slovenia and USA.

Algeria registered a 1-1 draw with Tanzania in their opening qualifier for the 2012 African Nations Cup on Friday, and will now continue their campaign without the 64-year-old.

"Mr Rabah Saadane on Saturday resigned from his post as coach of the national team,"A statement on the Algeria football association's official website read.

"Mr Saadane's decision has been accepted by the president of the Algerian Football Federation (Mohamed Raouraoua), who thanked and paid tribute to his excellent work."
