Assist for Henry as New York beat Toronto

Joel Lindpere's first-half goal was enough to earn New York a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC in Wednesday night's Major League Soccer encounter at Red Bull Arena.

The Estonian midfielder struck after 23 minutes, set up by new signing Thierry Henry, to snap the Red Bulls' five-game losing streak and consolidate second spot in the Eastern Conference.

The win moved New York within six points of leaders the Columbus Crew, five points clear of third-placed Toronto.

Wednesday's other MLS game finished in a 1-1 draw between Philadelphia and Real Salt Lake at PPL Park.

Fabian Espindola secured a point for the visitors with a 17th-minute equaliser after Danny Mwanga had put the hosts ahead in the third minute.
