Cologne sign Jajalo on loan from Siena

Cologne have signed Croatian midfielder Mato Jajalo on a year-long loan deal from Serie B side Siena.

Jajalo played a total of 25 matches for Siena last season and was captain of Croatia's Under-21 side.

"Mato Jajalo is a valuable addition for us,'' said Cologne general manager Michael Meier. "He is very versatile across the midfield and has a good technique and is very comfortable on the ball.

"Furthermore, he has an excellent vision. Mato will settle in quickly because he is competent with the German language. He spent more than eight years of his youth in Germany.''

Jajalo will spend the whole of next season on loan with the Goats, who then have the option to make the move permanent.
