Philadelphia Union open new home with win

The Philadelphia Union had a winning start to life at their new stadium as they recorded a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders to round off Major League Soccer action on Sunday night.

Playing their first game at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, the MLS new boys came from behind to get just their third win of the season.

Seattle striker Pat Noonan gave the visitors the lead just before half-time but former Sounder Sebastien Le Toux levelled the scores with a 55th minute penalty and Brazilian striker Fred and Danny Mwanga gave Philadelphia the victory with further goals in the second half.

In the other game on Sunday, Marco Pappa grabbed the only goal of the game from 30 yards to give the Chicago Fire a 1-0 away victory at the New England Revolution.
