USA unsure over 'unpredictable' Algeria

USA midfielder Landon Donovan has admitted that he is unsure over how Group C opponents Algeria will approach their game on Wednesday.

USA feel game is must-win.

"It'll be interesting to see how they approach the game," Donovan said. "They have no choice but to win, there are scenarios where we could tie and advance so their approach to the game would most likely be an aggressive approach to get a goal and win the game."

Donovan says that he has watched the Desert Foxes on video, but that the ''unpredictable'' nature of the side means they won't underestimate their opponents.

"They're a team that, as much as we can watch tape and know about their players, as a team they can be unpredictable,'' he said. ''On their day they're a very good team. We have to see what the game presents early, but our clear objective is to go out and try to win the game.

"Algeria is a good team. They're athletic, they're good defensively, they made some big tackles during that game against England. We just have to play our game, keep moving the ball and trying different things, take our opportunities when we can."

Algeria have not managed to hit the net at the World Cup yet, while USA have scored in each of their games. Midfielder Clint Dempsey thinks this may be key.

"The positive that we're taking from this World Cup is that we've scored in each game that we've played in so far, so on that front we're doing well," he said. "We're just going to go out and play our game and I think our game is good enough to win if we play our best.''
