Danny Lennon lands top job at St Mirren

Soccernet staff

St Mirren have confirmed the appointment of Cowdenbeath's Danny Lennon as their new manager.

Lennon joins the SPL side as a replacement for Gus MacPherson, who departed the club after seven years at the start of May.

Lennon has never managed in the Scottish top-flight but he has a growing reputation in the country after leading Cowdenbeath to back-to-back promotions.

He was looking forward to managing in the First Division next season but will now test himself against the likes of Walter Smith after compensation was agreed between the two clubs.
