McBride fires Chicago to Dallas draw

Major League Soccer strugglers FC Dallas maintained their unbeaten record at Toyota Park as they earned a 1-1 draw at the Chicago Fire.

The Texans, second to last in the MLS Western Conference, had won on each of their four previous visits there since 2006 and went in front after a fine individual goal in the sixth minute from David Ferreira, who pounced on a mistake by Fire defender Wilman Conde, turned CJ Conde inside out and curled the ball left-footed beyond keeper Andrew Dykstra.

The Dallas lead held until the 40th minute, though not before the Fire's Mike Banner had skied a Justin Mapp cross over the bar from three yards out in the 35th.

The equaliser came instead from veteran striker Brian McBride, who headed home a looping Mapp cross, although television replays showed the former Fulham and US forward had been marginally offside.
