Boca Juniors continued to struggle in the Clausura as they slipped up 2-1 at home to Racing Club.
After drawing five of their opening seven games, winning once and losing the other, the Buenos Aires giants had hoped to pick up form but they remain mired in a slump.
They opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Nicolas Gaitan found the net, but it took Racing Club just two minutes to draw level through Brian Lluy.
Gabriel Hauche then grabbed what turned out to be the winner a minute before half-time. The result meant Racing Club jumped above their hosts and up to ninth place, with Boca in 14th.
Tonight's other match in Argentina's top flight saw Lanus hold Estudiantes to a goalless draw.
