Hibernian have completed the signing of Brighton goalkeeper Graeme Smith on a free transfer. The former Motherwell stopper has penned a deal until the end of next season at Easter Road.
The 26-year-old only joined the Seagulls in the summer, but he has failed to settle at the Withdean Stadium and could now be included in the Hibs squad for this weekend's Edinburgh derby with Hearts.
"I am delighted to be joining Hibernian," Smith told the club's official website. "Everything about the club is exciting at the moment, from the gaffer, the training facilities to the results and team on the park. I want to be part of it, and will be working as hard as I can to get into the team on a regular basis."
Smith's signing is bound to raise question marks over the long-term future of Yves Ma-Kalambay, who is out of contract in the summer.
