Ronaldo returns to Real squad

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Real Madrid's squad for their Champions League Group C clash with FC Zurich on Wednesday.

Ronaldo has missed Real's last 10 games with an ankle injury and was also unable to play in Portugal's World Cup qualifying play-off with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The current FIFA World Player of the Year has not played for Manuel Pellegrini's side since their Champions League tie against Marseille on September 30.

He did appear for Portugal in their final World Cup qualification group game against Hungary on 10 October, but limped off early after aggravating the injury.

However, the 24-year-old returned to full training on Friday and could now feature against Zurich at the Bernabeu.

Failing that, the former Manchester United forward will be keen to figure in the first El Clasico of the season against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday.

Ronaldo made a scintillating start to his Real career, scoring nine goals in his first seven games before injury ruled him out. He has netted four times in just two Champions League appearances, against FC Zurich and Marseille.
