Islanders battle back for Marathon win

Puerto Rico Islanders came back from a goal down to defeat Honduras side Marathon 2-1 in the first-leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final clash.

Jerry Palacios put the hosts ahead shortly before the break but Nicholas Addlery equalised in the 74th minute and five minutes later substitute forward Jaggie Jagdeosingh secured the points for Puerto Rico Islanders.

"We have to start the first half (in Honduras) like we ended the second half in future games," Jagdeosingh said. "We cannot get too big headed. We need to keep doing what we were doing."

Both teams will clash again next week in Tegucigalpa to determine who will face the winners of the all-Mexican tie between Pumas and Cruz Azul in the semi-finals.
