Emmanuel Adebayor has stressed his Arsenal team-mates must not give up the fight for the Premier League title despite trailing leaders Liverpool by 10 points with more than half the season gone.
Arsenal are currently in fifth place in the table but, despite their disappointing position, Arsene Wenger's team have registered wins against champions Manchester United and Chelsea as well as holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.
And with those results in mind, Adebayor believes Arsenal are still capable of matching anyone in the league.
''We are trying to give 100% in every game at the moment but it's quite difficult,'' he said.
''We started the league in a difficult situation. We shouldn't be 10 or 11 points behind the leaders, Liverpool, but we want to keep going. We know the team is strong, we know that we have the quality. When we put everything together we can do well.
''The most important thing for us is to do our best.''
The Togo striker was speaking after collecting the African Player of the Year Award from Arabic language magazine Super in Abu Dhabi, where he was one of two Premier League stars honoured.
Manchester United's South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung was named the magazine's Asian Player of the Year after helping Sir Alex Ferguson's side capture the Champions League, Premier League and the Club World Cup titles.
''I'm really honoured to receive the award and thanks to everyone who voted for me,'' said Park in a recorded message. ''I will do my best for Asian people and players and to improve Asian football.''
Adebayor praised the former PSV Eindhoven winger, who he faced in the Champions League in his days at Monaco before joining Arsenal.
''He's a very good player, a player who loves to play football and who works hard for the team,'' he said. ''He's considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
''I don't know a lot of players from Asia but I've known him very well for four or five years and he's a very good player.''
Egypt's Mohamed Aboutrika was also recognised at the lavish ceremony, the Al Ahli playmaker collecting the award for Arab Player of the Year.
