U.S. U-20 women fall 2-0 to China

The U.S. U-20 women were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by China in their third and final game of Group B play at the Estadio German Becker Stadium in Temuco, Chile.

Against China, coach Tony DiCicco rested several starters including star goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher. However, the plan appeared to backfire as China broke a scoreless draw at halftime with two second-half goals in quick succession by Zhang Rui and Liu Shukun, in the 52nd and 58th minute respectively.

Despite the loss, the U.S. finished atop of its group, having already secured advancement to the quarterfinals with ins in its first two games.
