ZURICH, Sep 12 (Reuters) - World soccer's governing body FIFA has thrown Ethiopia out of the 2010 World Cup following a long-running row over the leadership of the country's football federation.
FIFA announced on Friday that Ethiopia would be immediately removed from the tournament's qualifying competition after refusing to honour an agreement reached by the two organisations in February 2008.
The results of all four matches played by Ethiopia so far in Group Eight have been cancelled. The group now comprises three teams - Morocco, Mauritania and Rwanda.
