WASHINGTON -- Luis Gabriel Rey scored two goals to lead Atlante to a 3-2 victory over D.C. United in the teams' second match in the 2008 SuperLiga tournament Tuesday night at RFK Stadium.
Rey's goals gave Atlante a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute and made it 2-1 in the 44th minute. Gabriel Pereyra and Giancarlo Maldonado assisted on the goals.
Midfielder Christian Bermudez's high-arcing shot from 19 yards cleared the outstretched right hand of D.C. United goalkeeper Zach Wells to give Atlante a 3-1 lead in the 49th minute.
Luciano Emilio scored from 16 yards to pull D.C. United within 3-2 in the 79th minute.
Atlante goalkeeper Federico Vilar denied a shot by Rod Dyachenko in penalty time to preserve the victory.
Francis Doe scored in the 28th minute for D.C. off an assist by Craig Thompson.
