La Liga: Late penalty drama hands Sevilla win

An injury time penalty from Luis Fabiano gave Sevilla a controversial win against nine-man Osasuna.

The Brazilian had to retake his 93rd minute spot kick but held his nerve to clinch the victory.

Christian Poulsen gave Sevilla a 55th minute lead from a free-kick sending the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan into raptures.

But Ion Echaide Sola levelled with a superb angled left-footed drive to dampen the home crowd's spirit.

Both Osasuna's centre backs, Josetxo and Javi Garcia, were dismissed in the final four minutes before Fabiano's dramatic 12-yard winner.

The Brazilian despatched the first spot kick before the referee ordered him to take it again as the home side encroached into the area.

But La Liga's leading scorer kept a cool head to slot home his second attempt and give his side maximum points.
