MARSEILLE, France, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Former France midfielder Jean Tigana was questioned by police on Wednesday as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities, judicial sources said. The former player, coach and agent left the Marseille police headquarters after being questioned for nearly eight hours and was likely to be summoned again at a date to be determined, the sources added. Police quizzed Tigana plus agents Richard Bettoni and Ranko Stojic in relation to an investigation opened in 2005 into nine transfers suspected of being irregular, among them France striker Djibril Cisse's move from Auxerre to Liverpool in 2004, the sources said. Tigana, 52, was a member of France's so-called 'magic triangle' with fellow midfielders Michel Platini and Alain Giresse in the 1980s. That team won the 1984 European Championship and reached the World Cup semi-finals in 1982 and 1986. Tigana won 52 caps from 1980 to 1988. He then embarked on a coaching career that took him to Olympique Lyon, Monaco, Fulham and Besiktas.
