Tottenham in fresh Fred approach - Agent

Tottenham are set to make a new approach for Brazil striker Fred, according to the Lyon striker's agent.

Paris St Germain and Spurs are believed to have had initial offers turned down for the player, who wants to leave Lyon after losing his place in the first team.

But Rodrigo, Fred's brother and agent, claims Juande Ramos' side are going to return with another bid.

'Yes, we are meeting with Damien Comolli, Spurs' sporting director,' Rodrigo said in French daily L'Equipe.

'He is coming with a new offer. If it is good, Fred will sign for Tottenham.'

Rodrigo was set to meet with Spurs officials today but the postponement of Lyon's League Cup tie with Le Mans to tonight meant the talks were put back.

Lyon are reported to be holding out for around £9million for Fred, who has a year and a half left on his contract at the Stade Gerland.
