Depor's fighting keepers dropped for game

MADRID, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Deportivo Coruna have left out goalkeepers Dudu Aouate and Gustavo Munua for Sunday's Primera Liga match at Villarreal after the duo were involved in a fight in training.

'Following Friday morning's incident club president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro and coach Miguel Angel Lotina and his staff have decided not to use Aouate and Munua for the Villarreal game,' said Depor on their website.

Israel goalkeeper Aouate required six stitches in his face after being punched by his Uruguayan counterpart in the dressing rooms, Spanish station Radio Marca reported.

The incident came a day after Aouate had complained about being dropped as first-choice keeper.

'I am very sad because I don't think this was a fair decision. Depor's problems have never been in goal,' he told reporters.

The 30-year-old has been Depor's number one since he arrived from Racing Santander in 2006 but was dropped to the bench after the 2-1 league defeat at home to Osasuna at the beginning of December, to be replaced by 29-year-old reserve Munua.

Depor are second from bottom in the league, two points from safety.
