Coupet to return after long-term injury

LYON, France -- France and Olympique Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet will return to action after a long-term injury layoff on Sunday against third division Creteil in the French Cup.

"Barring a last minute disaster, Greg will start the game," the French champions coach Alain Perrin told a press conference on Friday ahead of the last 64 French Cup tie.

The 35-year-old Coupet underwent surgery in August after tearing a left knee ligament in training just before the opening game of the season.

"My season will start on Sunday," he was quoted as saying on the club's Web site (www.olweb.fr).

"I'm relieved, just happy to feel the pressure of competition again. I lack match practice but I can rely on my experience."
