Sources: Scurry to start in goal for U.S. vs. Brazil

ESPN.com

ESPN has learned that the United States women's soccer team will make a change in goal for its semifinal game against Brazil on Thursday.

Veteran Briana Scurry will start in goal instead of Hope Solo, who had started every game so far during this World Cup. Scurry had been the primary U.S. goalie for the 1995, 1999, and 2003 World Cups as well as the 1996 and 2004 Summer Olympics.

ESPN has also learned that coach Greg Ryan's plan is for Solo to return as the starter for the World Cup finals if the Americans get that far.

Thursday's U.S.-Brazil semifinal game may be seen on ESPN2 at 7:55 a.m. ET.
