Brentford have terminated the contract of manager Leroy Rosenior following the Bees' 4-0 home defeat by Crewe. The 42-year-old former Torquay boss took over at Griffin Park in June, but fans called for his head after today's defeat which leaves the club fourth from bottom in Coca-Cola League One. Former Colchester player and Brentford youth team boss Scott Fitzgerald has been placed in temporary charge. The Bees are just two points off the bottom of the table, and chairman Greg Dyke believes the departure of Rosenior is in the club's best interests. Dyke, who will now start the search for a new manager, told Sky Sports News: 'We have asked the head of the youth squad Scott Fitzgerald to take over in the meantime. 'Obviously we don't do these things out of the blue. We had been working on a plan B over the last few weeks in case Leroy had to go. 'There are still a lot of games to go, and we are not halfway through the season. If get the right manager and a bit of luck with injuries we can stay up.'
