Eredivisie: Ajax net late winner, Roda riding high

AMSTERDAM, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Substitute Kenneth Perez struck three minutes before time to seal a 3-2 win for Ajax Amsterdam at Utrecht in the Dutch league on Sunday.

Spaniard Gabri opened the scoring for Ajax after six minutes and John Heitinga netted a rebound just before the interval to double the lead.

Gregoor van Dijk converted a disputed penalty to pull one back with 10 minutes remaining, but was sent off five minutes later.

Marc-Antoine Fortune equalised a minute later but former Denmark international Perez handed Ajax, who had lost six of their previous seven matches at Utrecht, the deserved three points.

Roda JC's excellent start to the season continued with a 1-0 away win in Tilburg over Willem II that lifted them level on points with Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar.

Adil Ramzi netted the only goal after 63 minutes for the Kerkrade-based club who have an inferior goal difference to AZ and have played one game more than Louis van Gaal's side.

The Rotterdam derby finished 3-1 in favour of Excelsior against Sparta.

Haris Medunjanin scored a late consolation for Sparta after goals from Jarda Simr, Sebastiaan Steur and Daniel Guijo-Velasco had put Excelsior in charge.

FC Twente pulled off a stunning 4-3 win over RKC Waalwijk after trailing for much of the match.

Tim Janssen justified his inclusion in the starting line-up by opening the scoring for RKC before Pius Ikedia made it 2-0. Orlando Engelaar pulled one back before Janssen made it 3-1 to the team from Waalwijk after 63 minutes.

The turnaround started when Stephan Keller scored an own goal seven minutes later and then Blaise N'Kufo levelled the match. Kennedy Bakircioglu sealed the win for the team from Enschede with three minutes to play.
