Lincoln let the two Johns take charge

John Schofield has been appointed head coach of Lincoln with John Deehan named director of football at Sincil Bank.

Former Imps player Schofield, who made almost 300 appearances in his playing days for the League Two club, has signed a two-year contract.

Schofield, a UEFA `A' licence holder, returned to the club six years ago as head of youth development and was appointed first-team coach prior to the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Deehan was appointed as director of football alongside Schofield as part of a new-look City management team.

`First and foremost I`m looking to working with John,' said Deehan, `but most of all I`m looking forward to bringing success to Lincoln.

`Hopefully the combination of winners working together will be fruitful for Lincoln.'

Deehan joins Lincoln after working in a similar capacity at Northampton and fresh from helping the Cobblers clinch promotion to League One.

He added to the club`s official website: `I`ve just had a very successful campaign with Northampton and hopefully the lessons I`ve learnt during my time there will help Lincoln move forward.'
