PARIS, Jan 15 (Reuters) - France defender Willy Sagnol confirmed on Sunday he would be staying with German club Bayern Munich until 2010."I have extended my contract for four more beautiful years," he told the cable television channel Canal Plus. "The club knew I wanted to think about my decision carefully. They allowed me to take my time." Bayern manager Uli Hoeness said on January 8 that Sagnol was definitely going to extend his contract with the club for another four years. Sagnol joined Bayern in 2000 and won the Champions League with them in 2001 as well as three Bundesliga crowns and two German Cup titles. His previous contract ran until the end of the season and his future provoked weeks of speculation during which the 28-year-old said he would leave Bayern to join Italian club Juventus.
