BUCHAREST, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Romanian international midfielder Mihaita Plesan joined Gheorghe Hagi's Politehnica Timisoara from fellow first division club Dinamo Bucharest on Thursday. The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract with Timisoara, who have been coached by the former Romania great Hagi since last November. Earlier this week, Hagi said his main aim was to bring the league title to the western city for the first time since Ripensia Timisoara were champions in 1938. "Timisoara have concluded their winter transfer window purchases with Plesan's arrival and Hagi is fully satisfied," the club's executive president Ion Craciunescu told Reuters. Plesan, who has played six internationals and scored one goal, joins three other new signings at Timisoara, a club aiming to break the dominance of the big Bucharest teams. "Timisoara are ready now to take on Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid and bring to life the supporters' dream of winning the title and then playing in the Champions League," Craciunescu said. Politehnica Timiosoara are fourth in the league, six points behind leaders Dinamo. The Romanian championship resumes on March 4.
