D.C. United defender added to U.S. roster

CARSON, Calif. -- D.C. United defender Bobby Boswell was added to the U.S. national team training camp roster and was expected to arrive Wednesday night.

Boswell has never played for the national team.

The U.S. team, preparing for a series of World Cup warmup games that start Jan. 22, took a day off from practice Wednesday for the first time since camp began Jan. 4.

Defender Chris Albright has resumed training after bruising his right knee.
