Pandiani return to Spain all but sorted

Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre claims a move to bring Birmingham striker Walter Pandiani to the club is 'practically a done deal'.

The Uruguay forward would become the Barcelona club's first and probably only reinforcement during the winter transfer market.

Both clubs were understood to be set to finalise the deal - worth a reported 1.5million euros (1million).

The 29-year-old Pandiani will return to the Primera Liga having played previously in Mallorca and Deportivo La Coruna.

Pandiani signed a three-year deal with Birmingham in the summer after impressing while on loan at St Andrews last season.
