CHICAGO -- Defender Christie Rampone is returning to the U.S. women's soccer team for the first time since having a baby in September.
Rampone was among 20 players picked Monday for the Four Nations tournament in China that starts Jan. 18. She had a baby girl, Rylie, on Sept. 29.
"It's been an adjustment, but I feel great," Rampone said. "Not playing a game in over a year, it's always going to be tough to come back, but physically and mentally I feel good. It's just a matter of getting back and comfortable with the team on the field."
Other members of the 2004 gold medal-winning Olympic team on the roster are defender Heather Mitts; midfielders Shannon Boxx, Kristine Lilly, Lindsay Tarpley and Aly Wagner; and forwards Heather O'Reilly and Abby Wambach and Christie Welsh.
At the tournament in Guangzhou, the United States plays Norway (Jan. 18), France (Jan. 20) and China (Jan. 22).
