Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has signed a new two-year contract with the club to end speculation about his future.
At the beginning of May, club president Luis Filipe Vieira had said that agreeing an extension with Jesus would be a formality but over the next month they finished the season disastrously, losing two cup finals and missing out on the league title to Porto leading to reports that he could leave.
However, in a statement released to the Portuguese stock exchange, Benfica have confirmed that Jesus will stay on in his role until 2015.
Jesus, renowned for developing young talent, moved to Benfica from Braga in 2009 and won the title in his first campaign. He has also won three league cups.
