Redknapp hits 'low' point

Harry Redknapp said he was "very low" after Queens Park Rangers moved a step closer to the Premier League trap door with a 1-1 draw at home to Wigan Athletic.

Despite having striker Bobby Zamora sent off in the first half, QPR looked to have claimed a vital victory through Loic Remy's late wonder strike.

But QPR were hit by a sucker punch in the last minute of injury time when Shaun Maloney curled home a superb free-kick to earn a 1-1 draw, though he was helped out greatly by Adel Taarabt ducking under the ball in the wall.

"We didn't deserve that, we deserved to win. It was a fantastic performance from everyone one of them," Redknapp insisted. "It was criminal. Even with ten men I thought we deserved to win. [The players are] low, just like I am, very low. You don't always get what you deserve in football; that is how it goes.

"The players who have come in the window have done well, Remy has scored goals, he is probably our leading goalscorer and he has only played about seven games. Andros Townsend has come in on loan and been fantastic, made a real difference to the team - Jermaine Jenas has done excellent.

"Suddenly we look like we are going to score, unfortunately the window came a little late for us perhaps."
