On-loan Juventus forward Nicklas Bendtner has been fined €112,938 (£96,893) and had his driving licence suspended for three years after admitting to drink driving.

Bendtner, who is on a season-long loan at Juventus from Arsenal, was caught driving on the wrong side of the road in Copenhagen by police, and has admitted to having been three times over the legal alcohol limit in his native Denmark.

The Danish football federation has suspended Bendtner from national team duty for six months because of the incident.

Bendtner wrote on his Twitter account on Monday: "Dear friends, I was booked for a mild case of drink driving last night. It was a quiet night but I am very very sorry to all my friends and fans. It is not OK to drink and drive. I take full responsibility."

Bendtner, who is on loan from Arsenal, has failed to score for the Bianconeri in nine appearances. He is set for a return to the Emirates at the end of the season.
