Anelka, 33, is being viewed as a temporarily solution for Juve until summer signing Fernando Llorente arrives from Athletic Bilbao and the club is willing to offer the Frenchman a six-month deal with an option to extend the deal, Goal.com has reported.
The Old Lady were in the frame to sign Anelka's team-mate Didier Drogba, but after contract negotiations stalled, the Serie A leaders switched their focus to the former France international.
It is believed Anelka will receive €600,000 for the rest of the season, with additional bonuses and the contract extension on offer depending on his performances for the Bianconeri.
The striker attracted interest from a number of Premier League and European clubs, with QPR boss Harry Redknapp interested in a loan move, while West Ham and PSG retracted their initial requests for his signature.
