Premier Showdown - Jan 1-2

Tommy Smyth edged to yet another victory in a low scoring round of Showdown over the weekend. And that means Dale Johnson's grip on the trophy is growing ever weaker. Off we head into 2013, and helping us raise a glass to the New Year is Freddy Porges who comes from New Jersey in the USA. Freddy tells us: " Tommy and Dale! What's up? I'm a Division III college keeper from New Jersey and I support Chelsea, Come on you Blues! I will be studying abroad this spring so I'll get to go to the Bridge and catch my first live Blues match! Super pumped!" Game on!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPN journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Another simply win for Tommy and he's making this look like taking candy from a baby.

Table after Round 21
Tommy: 28.5
Rest of the World: 19.5
Dale: 15

Best week's total of season: 13, Tommy Smyth

Final table 2011-12
Dale: 44
Rest of the World: 41
Tommy: 29

Best week's total of season: 13, Dale Johnson
