Major League Soccer's 35-week 2013 schedule features a Week 3 Rivalry Week on March 16-17, which pits regional foes against each other for eight of the nine matches, the league announced Wednesday.

All 323 matches will be televised live, 87 via national network partners.

The season begins March 2 with six matches. It ends Oct. 27, followed by the playoffs and MLS Cup

.

Each of the 19 teams will play 34 matches, 17 at home and 17 away, over 35 weeks. As of now, no games will overlap with World Cup qualifiers.

Rivalry Week's matches include the first 2013 meeting between the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers in Seattle, as well as the New York Red Bulls vs. D.C. United in New York. That same weekend, Real Salt Lake will host the Colorado Rapids in the Rocky Mountain Cup, Impact will host Toronto FC in Montreal, league champion Los Angeles Galaxy will go against Chivas USA and FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo will meet.

Within each conference, each club will play the same number of in-conference and out-of-conference games, using the same competition format as 2012, with inter-conference matches switching venues.
