Manchester City have decided they will not contest Samir Nasri's dismissal in Saturday's 4-3 win at Norwich City and he will now serve a three-match ban.
Nasri picked up the first red card of his time in England after he went head-to-head with Sebastien Bassong.
Referee Mike Jones, following consultation with his linesman, sent off Nasri for violent conduct after the midfielder aimed a feigned head-butt at the Norwich defender.
Manager Roberto Mancini was incensed by the decision after the game but there was little chance any appeal would have been successful.
Nasri will miss Tuesday's game at home to Stoke City as well as the FA Cup game against Watford and the trip to his old club Arsenal on January 13.
