Fulham recall goalkeeper Stockdale

ESPN staff

Fulham have recalled goalkeeper David Stockdale from his loan at Hull City after an injury to No. 1 Mark Schwarzer left them short in goal.

Stockdale, 27, was scheduled to remain with the Championship side until January 2 and was called up for the England in December last year. He made five appearances for Steve Bruce's side, but has now gone into the squad to take on Liverpool on Saturday.

A club statement read: " The Club can confirm that goalkeeper David Stockdale has been recalled from his loan spell at Hull City with immediate effect and will resume training with Fulham from Thursday 20th December.

"Stockdale made five appearance for the Tigers, helping them to earn 10 points and two clean sheets in the process."

Martin Jol's other options are Hungarian 27-year-old Csaba Somogyi, who is yet to make a first-team appearance, and 22-year-old academy product and Philippines international Neil Etheridge.
